Cutting 2dr rangy into ute, who has done one - TIPS?

Post by RRV839 »

I have been looking around for some sort of ute for a while or a good trailer to put my moto's on, however as i found out motot trailers are pretty exy... so i kinda gave up on the whole idea but...

I just bought myself a 1979 2dr casue the price was right, which has a little work done to it, and then i thought, why don't i just cut this into a ute, i've always wanted a rangy ute i just can't bring myslef to cut up my softdash so...

Who has done this kind of work as im looking for some tips, and does can anyone tell me how long the tub area is (probably go styleside) once you cut the roof off, im not sure yet wether i want to make it a full on ute or just have the back open and get a canopy sort of thing made up to go behind the seats to keep the weather out, kinda like a soft top.

I dont want to spend too much doing it as that would defeat the purpose, thus why im doing a styleside rather than a trayback (even though id prefer a tray)
