Mate of mine just bought a nice BJ73 Middie cruiser with factory standard lowered suspension.
His is a lot lower than this.
His has the 'reverse egg' colour scheme with the yelow body/white roof, but you get the idea...
He needs to get it fixed so it looks like a real 4wd!
He's been quoted about $2k for a 50mm front/75mm rear lift fitted (OME).
Anyone got any ideas to help reduce the price to get it up to standard (he's not keen to run 35's, just wants more clearance/better ride etc)?
1) Is it worth shopping ebay to get the bit and do the work yourself?
2) Anyone able to recommend a cheaper kit installed?
All advice appreciated.

Thanks guys, I heard that reset springs don't stay reset for long and the spring rates are different on aftermarket springs.
Not sure how much money my mate is keen to spend but my opinion is that if he does it properly, then it's done for the next ten+ years. Am I right?

OME Dakar Heavy Duty Fronts and Medium Duty Rears cost just under $1000.00 for my Troopy in the last 8 months, fit them yourselves , it's not hard.

It is only about 4 to 5 hundered, so worth looking into. Yes sometimes they can drop back down the first time after being reset, but if they are a reputable spring joint they will reset them again if it happens. Bit of buggerising around to redo, but never have a problem after the second time.
