have a 98 mk triton twin cab v6 auto thinking of getting arb air lockers i know the limited slip diff in rear is good ,but on wheel travel average what i know is normal. thank you for any coments .

I would agree that the front is prolly the best way to go. however....
From my own experiences, I would say that I used a rear locker 100 times more often than the front. I found that my driving style was not suited to using the front locker all that often. When i used it, i loved it but when i think about the amount i used the front arb vs what it cost, one would have to question my reasoning for having it.
The rear lsd was good, but rear locker was great + coupled with a matching front was even better.
Mind you, there was never an option for a front locker for the many years i was a paj driver, so rear was the only way to go.

If the Mitsi LSD wasn't such a doozey then of course a rear locker would make more sense. When you are climbing (the majority of when you'd need a locker) where does all your weight transfer??

I know I've driven over obstacles without thinking about them, where a locker equipped shorty was stopped, and needed to engage.
Notwithstanding all the above, I rarely use my front locker (in fact, I rarely use 4wd these days... ) But I have zero regrets.
I use my rear locker much more than my front locker. I don't know about where you guys are, but out here there are lots of rock-slabs. On rock, engaging the front locker makes steering darn near impossible in many situations. I would have to first steer in the direction I need to go, then engage the front locker and hold the wheel in place. If the wheels get straightened out, there's no turning any more until I disengaged the front locker.
The rear locker doesn't present a problem, though. When on rock, and with the rear locker engaged, the tires will just chirp over the rock as I negotiate a turn.

Yep, that would equate to my real world analysis as well, ie front locker gives more improvement over rear locker, BUT both is still better! if you have the $$.greybeard wrote:don't know if you've seen this before
