g'day all,
just wondering your thougths on a 5 link set up for an 80... it only goin to be used as a 4wd so to speak so i realise road handling goin to be a bit of a bastard..... any advice/thoughts would be greatly appreciated

It alows the front of the radius arm to move up and down when articulating but in the same spot for road drving so the diff wont roll under power or braking seen some dodgy home made setups http://www.dobbinengineering.com/index.htm is the real deal

I like the way the rear of my 80 flexes, so I have been thinking for some time now to try are copy the set up (i.e. length or rods and hieght off diff etc) on the front.
If it does not work I could then but the stronger arms on the back and go back to drawing board.
I do not have any info on what makes a five link work as in ratio of arms lengths etc so I though copy what works and try that to start with...

my thoughts are i had been fighting with 5 link for over 4 years. it not just the road driving which is the problem. i found with a big lift you could not drive straight at big steps. because of the angle of the 5 link arms you get the feeling that you are driving over the top of top of the front end. i have not heard how much about the road side of the X Link but i have seen that it works well off road.
