Fuel Filter ID

Post by sierrajim »

My Hilux is fitted with some form of non factory fuel filtration system. Not 100% sure what it's off. The fuel filter looks just like an oil filter.

I'm guessing its off another vehicle, any ideas?

I have a factory Hilux filter and mounting here but would rather keep this one with the two stage filtration system.

It's a common older style of petrol filter; it's similar (but I think not the same) as one I had on the G60.

I think it acts as a trap as well as a filter.

Does it have a thumbscrew on the bottom holding the cup in place?
This is not legal advice.

Sorry, the glass bowl is a cleanable trap of sorts.

The photo kind of hides the black oil filter looking filter, thats what i'm chasing.

If you can't find a source, post the ID and OD of the rubber seal on the filter cartridge and I'll see if it's the same as some Malpassi ones I've got - it looks about the same sort of dimensions.

Cheers mate, have swapped the factory one back on for now to keep me going. I'll pul the old filter off the housing and post up the measurements.
