Acording to the F300 Manual the rimes are 15 x 6JJ

The tyres are listed as either 195 R15 or 225/70 R15

By my calcs that comes out to a total tyre height of 27.4 inches or 695mm.

Needless to say they do look very odd on stock tyres when your used to something bigger.
( usual disclaimers )

It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.

Question re sizes.... Going on the 225/70 R15 size, what is the largest tyre you can go to legally?

Once again my understanding is a total of not more than 50mm increase in ride height ( that's suspension and body lift ) without an engineers certificate AND the clearance between a suspension component and its bump stop is not altered by more than a third as specified by the manufacturer.

Rims must be withing 15mm of the largest/smallest manufactureres rim

Thats apparently the situation in Victoria.... so our favorite tyre sizes are out, as well as cranking up the torsion bars to clear them.

Doesn't leave many options does its ?

For us in NSW:
RTA wrote:Wheels up to 26mm wider than the largest optional wheel recommended by the vehicle manufacturer for the vehicle can be fitted without the need to notify the RTA.

The outside diameter of the wheel and tyre combination must be no more than 15mm over the largest diameter wheel and tyre combination specified for the vehicle and not more than 15mm below the smallest diameter wheel and tyre combination specified for the vehicle.

I'd be more worried about insurance issues than defect issues if my car was heavily modified.
A defect can be cleared easily... A major accident without insurance cover, may not.
