Im putting plans and a bank account together to start saving towards a SAS.
What diffs should i be using??
Most SAS ive seen have been to lux diffs but ive heard Patrol diffs are better, but zook diffs are easier?
what should i be lookin at?

Popular is Dana44 axles here in the Philippines. But Patrol and hilux or prado differentials are also use for SAS. If I was doing it, this is what I'd look at
1. look for something that's not too much wider than a feroza diff, so that even when you do get it engineered, its not going to stand out at attract the wrong type of attention.
2. Something cheap and readily available, to keep the initial cost down and parts available.
3. Something has different diff ratios available, so you can run larger tires and still keep a half decent crawl ratio, or even improve on what you've got now.
But then again, I wouldn't bother. I'd just buy a car thats already solid front and save a few grand, months without a car, and headaches/heartache when stuff inevitably goes wrong

for the diffs go with lux ones as there are easy to come by and if they blow, parst are everywhere. but be sure you go with a 97 model or newer as the ratio is 4.88,
as you already know iv got no gear reduction on my beast and it still crawls alright with 35s

spoa, lux diffs, 2inch suspension, 2inch body, 1.6 bored out to 1.7 turbo.. rolllllen on 35s
Have a careful look at the front of the chassis of a feroza. It's going to be VERY high if you want acceptable compression travel.
On this, I've seen one SAS completed, SPOA/Hilux, and IMHO it was about 6" too tall to be useful.
I think Piglet uses a Scat chassis so it has enough arch to fit the axle in. The Feroza chassis has no room for a diff.
If you want a cheap light car with a live axle, buy a suzuki. If you want a tall SPOA car with hilux diffs, buy a hilux. a freoza is a very poor candidate for a SAS.
