So far I've replaced all oil, diffs, tranny, transfer. Bought a new steering wheel and boss. Cleaned out the radiator and put coolant in it  (had none). Will be doin cv's and front bearing this weekend as well as tail shafts gettin some grease into them. Also chuck the new mags and tyres on. Also put new ignition coil on it and has new leads and plugs. Have sprayed the carby out with cleaner as it had a heap of carbon build up may put a kit through it next weekend, then get a tune up!!!!!! the list is getting smaller. Any help with prior questions will be much appreciated

Cheers will do! Probably wont worry until next week tho. The bucket of bolts badly needs a tune up as it loves to back fire at the oddest times :? smells rich too! I'm not real good with tune ups so will take to a shop.
I ripped out some old wiring today and fitted the wheel and boss 2 more off the list  Also dropped off new tyre to get balanced and pick up tomorrow with new nuts to suit
Should nearly have this under members thread
All help welcome :!:

Well after working under the h.o.s.t yesterday I'm now in a s*#t fight with the bloke I bought it from due to it having a bodgy roady:
1 it didnt have a mudflap
2 the steering wheel spun on itself
3 all bushes in the front end are rooted
4 major rust in cab
5 major chassis rust (complete side rusted out)
6 the vin number isnt correct on the paperwork
7 all door hinges are rooted
8 the heater doesn't work
9 Drivers side front rubber brake line damaged
Not to mention loose wiring in the cab the tray is loose and missing some bolts and the rear, tailshaft is siezed, and it backfires when it feels like it :!: :bad-words: :bad-words: :x :agrue: :x
Guess who feels like the tool now :?:  :x
Anyone got ideas as to where to start as Ive not yet changed the papers over as the owner didn't sign the papers his "mate" did (also bodgy) :?: :?: Have spoken to the "mate" as he sold it to me and asked if the bloke who did the roady was a mate and he has said No, But he said he'd ring them Monday to try and sort this out. I told him that as long as it's roadworthy I'll accept it. Pretty much means a new chassis and alot of cab work on top of the other things! Otherwise the mechanic will loose his license

Ahhhhhh Mick i would appreciate if you wouldnt call that POS, that you happened to be looking after for the past 10 days a toyota! There Clearly wasnt any Toy or ota left in it. I think after the previous previous owners effort to keep it alive, the Hilux changed its own name to "She-be-dodgy-right!" If you say it quick, its japenese for....."For F### sake im 23 years old give me a break and let me retire already"!

The thing i cant work out mick, for $3,800 surely you could have picked up a late model ST GU ute. I mean come on,,,,, we all know the real market value of a second hand patrol!!! :D :finger: :finger: :finger:

As for Furry's comment ,he went out with me in the same 60 series cruiser with the International scout club for a weekend trip. This was my first introduction to 4 wheeling, cut a long story short not long after that Furry bought himself a 4x4, and shame on him bought a nissan as he could not afford a tojo. That brings me to what u said Troy ,I thought they could'nt give nissan utes away   :D :D :D LOL LOL

Here we go again, Mick put HIS nissan badge on my Cruiser because he wanted to know what it was like have his badge on a far more superior vehicle, To let Nissan have a taste of what its like to have there name on a King like 4x4........ Which we all know is the LandCruiser!

I know i wouldnt have my toyota badge seen dead on a Nissan. Why??? because why would i want to lower my vehicles standard to that of a Datsun........I mean come on thats the same level as a Lada Niva :finger: :finger: :finger:

A Landcruiser is like the Simpsons Canyonero, "She's not just a truck shes a 4wd, She blinds everybody with her super high-beam, shes a squirrel squashin', Dear Smacking Drivin Machine!"

Oh What A Feeling ;)

Sorry forgot to add.......must be a b!tch when each of those peices of sh!t are worth more then 3 patrols of the same era or 15 years newer. On another note must be a really really BIG b!tch when even 1/3 of a hilux can out wheel a Patrol, Yes it may be named after snot, but at least its not a substance that comes from near your genitals.....i.e Sh!t!   :finger: :finger: :finger:
