courier WL engine is it electronically controlled?

Post by 03turbo »

Hi Guys
Have a 2.5 TD courier "WL" engine. Has a little black box behind drivers kick panel. Is this a PCM (power control module)or something else?
I recently ordered in a workshop cd for several vehicles including the UK Ranger WL and WLT engine and has reference to a pcm in the same location as my truck. I am at a loss as to all the wires coming from throttle body etc. Various Cables seem to terminate into this black box as if it is some sort of controller. I am trying to learn the ins and outs of this vehicle as i recently somehow buggered the temperature gauge in dash and simply left off the sender wire and fitted an after market gauge . Would this mean that something is now not getting the signal that it should?
Long winded question i know but any thoughts appreciated
ps, if anyone needs any technical info on their vehicle looked up i have an in depth cd with the following vehicles on it ( from the UK but mostly the same i would imagine)
UK Ranger (courier) WL, WLT and petrol 6
