arb make and sell the lockers so they would be the cheapest.

while you may think that, you would be incorrect, they can be picked up cheaper elsewhere, ringing around and finding the best price is your best option

This is true. There have been discussions on here before, where it could be cheaper to buy from ARB USA and have it shipped over, than to purchase from your local ARB outlet :silly:

you can sometimes buy them cheaper from other stores, because arb sells to tjm and other 4x4 shops for dealer price, which is lower than retail. what tjm or a 4x4 shop sells them for is up to them.
if they want to cut their margins down and only make $50 a diff then good luck to them.
if you have your arb airlocker fitted anywhere but an arb stockist then forget about your warranty.
if you have a problem with the diff, even if it is a manufacturing issue, you will have to get it removed yourself and send it to the arb shop that they bought it from.

as far as the "its cheaper to buy one from the usa" arguement, the freight is the killer.i buy race parts from summit in the states and the freight bill can be high on heavy items.
also what happens if you ordered the wrong diff?

true you have a good point with the warranty, i know the deal with shipping costs, it was killer getting my trail gear stuff! just retail costs of the lockers fitted is a killer, a well worth investment though!

i agree they are bloody expensive, but the price is high because there is no other manufacturer of quality locking diffs.thats why 80% of lockers built go overseas.

cant help you with lux, but for 80 series cruiser, i rang around and there are big differences.
the 2 most helpful and well priced stores were arb in lambton newcastle. and opw in sydney.
i ended up going with arb only because it was more convenient with pickup.
