Thank you to all the spectators and competitors for making the effort to drive to Rover Park, all went well without any problems and we all had heaps of driving time.
I think it was about 6 or 7 stages on saturday and 4 stages on sunday from what i remember, thats a lot of stages compared to some events.
There was some really good driving especially from the less experienced drivers and only a few small mechanical breakages that were easily fixed.( expect barto who though the Superior GQ looked cool towing his truck out of the park).
Greg or dave should have full results to post up soon and we will get some photo's and videos up to.
On the www.superiorengineering.com.au website in a week or 2 we should have a dedicated page for the 08 round 1 with heaps of videos/ pictures and detailed report on the driving and navigating of the event for people to get a bit more info of how it all went and hopefully it should get some more competitors for 08 Round 2

How many guys and / or girls would be interested in having round 2 at cruiser park, Dave ,greg and myself are thinking about it but we need a bit of an idea how many would be interested due to extra costs.
This is an easy event just smart driving and theirs no reason you cant take a podium place and just for the guys who are worried about damage , last round their was no bad carnage unlike some other events running
Ive have done more damage to my truck in comps like "tough tracks" and " carnage canyon"

We will see how this post goes for a couple of weeks and we should have some idea of who is keen then we can get some figures together, it wont be expensive as I will cover most of the cost, but the more guys wanting to compete the more reason to run this event, Everyone who has competed in 07 and round 1 08 has had a ball so it still amazes me how we dont have more competitors! Maybe the " rockcrawling phase " scares people? we should call it "easy tracks"
But on a serious note anyone with lockers and 35's could easily do this type of event.

the only problem with running at cruiser is A: the very poor amenities and B: we need our own insurance then, so we would have to actually charge $$$ and this is not what we are about! we have kept the cost to almost $0 in the past. FREE park and camping entry, FREE comp entry, Just a nomination fee so that we can get proper numbers for trophies!!

if we have time and interest, we may be able to have one in conjunction with the OCTOBERFEST at rover park early in october. So at least there is lots of beer for the spectators, and heaps of other stuff to watch as well

Please PM me or BB if you are serious about entereing.

If it is as action packed at the last event I'll be there to watch the Suzuki on 31" Simex M/T hand it to guys on 35's and 37's. I have a whole new respect for 31's. I still haven't come around to Suzuki's yet. It must be the tyres.

Steve is just a great competitor, the only reason i let him enter a vehicle with sub 35" tires is cus i know he can wheel the ar$e out of it!! he is a very good driver! and the results show it with podium finishes in both events. He is also a true enthusiast, he will work through the night or drive 300k's to get a part so he can continue the next day! and that is what its all about. We have been blessed to have had an excellent group of competitors enter in the past, so i hope they come back for more punishment

Cruiser Park would be good for a change. For the price of fuel to get to rover would outway the entry fee the way fuel prices are going. Maybe late october or early august would be good. (4 me anyway) :D

Just curious Greg what are you comparing the amenities to? Personaly i think as far as 4wd parks the amenities at cruiser are fantastic. The toilets are generally very clean unless they are abused by users. The showers have always worked and have allways been hot when i have been there.

The only park i feel that beats it amenties wise is Rover but then they are 2 totally different parks trying to attract a totaly different customer.

As a parent it would be good to have a couple of showers where you can fit the whole family in there (disabled toilets are great for this) where one parent can shower the kid then hand them out for the other parent to dry and dress, Janowen have this.

Cruiser has this up at the Expo site but not in the park.

Depending on your dates Greg, we will be there for this round :)

Rover park also have one like this but it is generally reserved for the occupants of the 2 large cabins. But im sure there would be no problem using it if it suited you.

You might have to buy a caravan. One big enough to fit our family in as well. :D
