ENGINE MOUNT 1989 GQ 4.2 PETROL

Post by CENTIPEDE »

I've gone through the bible for info ..............rang cheezy but they no longer make engine mounts

Left hand side is the only one that keeps pulling apart  Anyone else that makes them ? Or do I just get the original from Nissan.

Thank you MYGQ..

Surely with the amount of left hand side engine mounts breaking on the GQs, I'd have a better response. C'mon fellas!

i've done a couple in my shorty due to owner abuse!!

first one i changed with a second hand unit (it was saturday and wanted to drive sunday) bad idea lasted a month.

second was a genuine nissan thruogh a mate at a dealership, lasted six months.

replaced again with genuine and chained the motor to the chassis and that was five years a go.

I have noticed the 2 bolt ones are easy to destroy, 4 bolt ones are better

If you drive your truck hard you will constantly tear engine mounts, manufacture a new one by using a tube with shackle bushes and a bolt going through it so as it cannot tear, i have done this and it has lasted even through a double rollover the engine mounts still held up fine.
I think cheezy racing in victoria may manufacture them of the shelf.
