Heater Fan
Heater Fan
Hey, I have have an Suzuki Sierra SJ413. My heater fan used to work great, but one day I noticed it just stopped working.
From what I can remember I just slid the selector across and nothing happened. I've checked fuses and they appear fine.
Where can I start checking now? Is there a selector switch or something that may be broken/corroded?
Any ideas would be great because it's COLD haha. Oh, and no demisters is a bit of a worry this time of the year...
Cheers,
Josh

Ok, I've checked the fuse with a test light and it was fine.
I think I've also checked the power to the fan... (I disconnected this plug and put the test light into it http://www.izook.com/tech/samurai/body/ ... r-0009.jpg
with ignition on and blower control set on full. The test light did not light up). So I want to check the switch next.
Where is the switch located?

Behind the panel that houses your ventilation and fan controls. Pop the knobs of the switches, and pull the panel forward to access the switch. I think it is 2 philips head screws hold it on. It is a basic setup, check that the terninals are clean, and make contact. Check the wiring, i have seen this fail.

Ok, I've basically worked out whats wrong and can fix it now.
Pulled off the instrument cover, removed two phillips head screws holding the blower control switch to the dash. Pulled it through to the footwell and immediately noticed that two wires had come off of the solder. One wire is the power and the other was the max speed. Just tested by pushing the wires into the spots and the fan came on straight away.
Off to a mates place to borrow a solder and fix it right up.
Thanks for everyones help.

No problem. I have fixed the same problem in my zook, and a few mates ones as well.wannabe wrote:Ok, I've basically worked out whats wrong and can fix it now.
