Clutch replacement in Townsville??? where to go

Did a quick search, couldn't find anything.

I need to replace the clutch in my 80 series as it's farked, can anyone reccomend a mechanic who wont overcharge me, and will do a proper job.

i'm expecting to pay around a thousand bucks for it all up. is that about right?

Hey mate go and see Greg at RGM Maintanence out on woolcock St. He races 4x4's and does some awesome work. I can definately recomend them as i had some work done on the comp truck i was building and could not fault anything.

that be true with anything other than a patrol or cruiser. the box and tansfer weigh well over 150kg on both vehicles. making it real hard without a hoist or a transmission lift.

If you want to know who NOT to go to then PM me, the place in question tried to charge me $2800 to replace a clutch in a 6 speed V8 commodore not including parts... I can recommend Ians services for all mechanical work.

Cheers Mate, I have done four of them using this motor bike jack, dead easy, no lifting at all. 75 series is easiest but it is better to lift an 80 series up a bit as the gearbox does not slide back enough in the transmission tunnel if all wheels are on the ground to give good access to remove the pilot bearing.
Stewarts 4x4 are good also.
