Now, i need to know for sure or not whether my fourby is classified as a bundera? Some people say that bundy's are only mid wheel bases with coil suspension, and mine is a SWB with leaf spings. Can someone help me classify my car? Here are some piccys to help you out
Cheers

you have #j70
Its an FJ70 coz its a petrol
MY45, how did you work that out? it could be 4 or 5 diferant engines, did go by it not having a diesel badge on the grill or did you see some thing else on the pic's, or did you enlarge the pic and read the engine# from the rego sticker .
Peter.

they're not that expensive. can be had second hand for under $4k, they're around $7k brand new but that does not include all the peripherals and brackets so the conversion gets expensive to do if you but a new motor. BUT you also need the 1HZ to H55F bellhousing and a different transmission input shaft, which will stack up the $$.
while were at it
stick a 1hz-t in it
no such thing, but a 1HD-T or 1HD-FT would be a nice swap! (better to get a whole wrecked 80 series to get the motor, gearbox and transfer from, expect to pay at least 10k)
So Glen1n, what exactly have you got .If I got it right you have a 3F swb with coil springs. If so you have a rare coil sprung landcruiser that normally dont come to Australia.I think they usually go to S/America or for internal use in Japan.

a 13B-T is not a simple or cheap swap in a bundy. you have to transplant the gearbox and transfer, driveshafts, radiator, custom shroud, front springs, and 13B-T's aren't that cheap, at least as much as a 1HZ last time I tried to find one.
they will bolt into a BJ70 but to put one in a FJ70 you need to change at least the bellhousing and transmission input shaft, which requires almost complete disassembly of the transfer and gearbox, and the shaft itself is quite expensive from toyota, over $300. might also need to change the front engine mounts.
they are a great motor though, near bulletproof and buckets of torque, a lot better with a bigger aftermarket turbo and intercooling.

Sorry to dissapoint, but it has leaf springs as my45 pointed out.
Thanks for everyones help
BTW is it safe to spring over the SWB or is there to much risk of rolling it off road with the higher centre of gravity?
Cheers Glen
