Rear door wont open gq
Rear door wont open gq
Hi guys,
i have a gq lwb and the rear drivers side passenger door wont open . The latch is up but wont open. How do you open them to get trim off to fix it. Tryed wire down window ect to no avail.
Thought this must have happened to someone before.
Cheers in advance.

Sumthing on the menu!
Door Issue !!!! Well the only solution that everybody trys to avoid is the enevitable. replace the hingers, replace the striker plate and inspect the mechinism. The cause of the problem in the first instance is the spare tyre on the door, and over a period of time the hingers and striker plate wears and damages, the end result is nil operatiion.
Answer, do it right the first time or BODGEY it up and accept the same result. me I replaced every thing and remove the weight off the rear door.

most all 2 door coups, (these have large heavey doors) have the same problem over time, however, with both the nissan and toyota equivalent vehicles the twisting and movement and door weight causes the striker plate and mechenism to wear. only replacement is a more reliable solution and hinge replacement will be required. try removing the door and use it as a weight for bench pressing and see how many times you can lift it, (prittey heavey). this is what I have done to all my doors and also eliminates that lovely grinding noise when opening the doors, and more reliable door locks, I have also found that the electric door locks benifit greatly by this process.
i had this exact same problem.. get in the car and rip the trim off.. the springs inside of the latches die.. if you operate your handle and lock you will see the lock mech does not come up properly.. if you pus it up it works fine.. untill.. you lock the door and tray to open it.. the fix is easy.. i used rubber bands.. look on where your outside handle is and there is a metal rod that goes through a plate with a hole init.. put rubber bands around that to the top of your door handell and it will work again.. but i dont no how to get that lock out.. if you cant understand this i will go and get some pics..
