what turbo can i use

hi all im new to turboing cars and want to turbo my td42 one question is which turbos can i use. I can get a rebuilt turbo off a 2h landcruiser for free if i want it and need to know ifs its possible to put on the td42

A Garrett T28 from a nissan SR20DET would be a good second hand turbo to pick.
If you want to go new then you've got a whole lot of options. I'd avoid the toyota turbos, parts are more expensive and harder to find.

the imitation garrett from a VG30DET is also good, just be careful of the fragile ceramic turbine. they are ball bearing and spool very quickly. boost is limited to around 15psi but you're never going to pump that into a TD42.

the one you have off the 2H will go ok, might be a bit restrictive at the high end (such as it is on a TD42). do you know what it is?
