I need a picture of the standard Seirra carburetor with clead view of the vacuum hoses. I did some servicing on my Samurai, and disconnected the hoses without noting what hose went where. (yeah i know...extremelly STUPID).
Hope someone on here can post a pic so i can see.

ok, what I don't understand is, with the cover off the carburettor so I can look down the throat, if I rev the crap out of the engine, I don't see the secondary's opening, but if I cable tie the diaphram into the open position, the secondarys work fine. Also, I've checked the diaphram with a vacuum gauge and it is working ok, and I've blown out the vacuum port with compressed air and it is clear, but still no secondarys. Could it be that the secondarys only open under load?? The car seems to go marginally better with that diaphram held open, but that could just be my imagination

The secondarys open under load, when you free rev the motor there is no load, so there is no need for the extra air and fuel that teh secondarys provide.

try this .. you may need a mate to help . undo the vacuum hose to the secondary ... hold open the primary (get your mate to put his foot flat to the floor on the throttle) pull up the secondary rod and put your finger over the vacuum line hole .. does it move a short distance and stop , then when you release your finger return ?

Thanx. Just what I needed to know. I recall the vacuum secondarys on the old Mitsubishi Sigma motors used to open the secondarys when free revving, and I expected that these Aisin carbies worked the same way. @ Suzimad I tried that with a mightyvac, and yep, the diaphram is holding.
Thanx guys. Having always owned bigger, more powerful cars, and having only owned my zook for a couple of weeks, I'm still not entirely sure about how well it's supposed to perform. I did'nt expect a powerhouse when I bought it, I'd just like to ensure that it goes at least as well as the way mr Suzuki had intended it to.
