hey
just after some advice on wtf is wrong with my td42.
was suffering from the usual gutless n/a td syndrome. would not rev real well, no power etc etc. it has had new air filters, new fuel filters, blown all the fuel lines out, removed the pickup from the tank and the tank is clean. also checked for that gauze filter and it isnt there.
now all of a sudden it wont even idle. u can get it to run by giving it heaps of revs, but stil isnt very keen to free rev smoothly. also, while its trying to idle if u pump the hand pump on top of the fuel filter housing it comes good and will idle, but as soon as you stop pumping that its basically dies.
is it possible its sucking air in from somewhere?
or perhaps the pump isnt sucking enough fuel to itself ?
ideas?
cause this is a serious PITA as i was going to cruiser parkt his arvo.
cheers
matty

n/a td42 help. was gutless, now wont even idle wtf?
sounds as though theres air in the line.. try getting an air nozzle and wrapping a heap of rags around it and stick it in your fuel cap and pressurise the tank if htis doesnt clear it try cracking the fittings on the injectors and when fuel starts to run out close them up and rev it flat out.
hope this helps

Try getting a piece of clear tubing and replace the inlet hose to the pump with it that way you can see if it's sucking air from some where. Could be the pump on the fuel filter try by passing the filter completely . Check the solenoid on the pump gets power with the key on . You may also need to remove the solenoid and test if it actually works witth power supplied.
hope this gives you some direction.
