motorway tyres any good??

Post by zookkid »

ive noticed these "motorway mongrels" and they look sick! they are just extreme trekker rip offs really, but the mongrel model is actually a retread. (ino thats not safe at high speeds..but its a sierra it doesn't no what speed is.:))
therefore they should be cheaper?? any 1 got sum?any good?
cheers: jez

Yeah they work - cheap but wear quick

Try to make sure you get four made from the same carcasses
I got two different carcasses and one set bags a 8psi the other 4psi

Wayne is talking about the way the tyre reacts when you air down. Different tyres will deform differently when aired down, so if you are going to get re-treads get them with the same carcass so they all behave the same.

There is a Ton of infmation on motorways here, have a search and then ask if you still not sure on sometheing.

I got mine from Widetread Tyres Vic, if you have them up there in NSW.

I'm very happy with mine, but as sdaid, they have worn quickly, but I do a lot of road miles, too. Had for 3 years, would by again.
Never had any issues with zook speeds.

i did the ringing around a few months ago, the sole distributor in NSW for motorway is JAX quickfit tyres.

good budget tyre for a zook imo, but mine do suffer with the carcass/bagging issue

Go to the motorways web site
and they will tell you where the
dealers are.I have the at/s and they are very soft
12 mths old and just about worn out on the rear
but thats with a locker .
So might be better if your is unlocked

ive been having troubles finding another set here in tassie. I called the motorway rep and he said they are having problems finding suitable carcases to use as they are very specific when it comes to this. He said they are starting production again in 3 weeks (about 4 weeks ago) so hopefully more will be coming out. I find them fantastic. I cannot fault them.
