Has anyone tried this already?
The pump/motor displacements will determine the ultimate hyd motor rpm and the torque rating on the motor will determine the hp output at a set psi.
I already have 4 casapa gear pumps to play with but my main worry is blowing the pto out the side of the gear box and irrepairably damaging it when i start winding the pressure in on the flow meter when testing.
Does anyone know what kind of hp these pto's can handle? when i searched someone mentioned 18hp.
The DCV will have a pressure to tank centered spool so i can leave the pto engaged while winching but still drive and winch separately when i like.
Also im a bit confused, can you drive and use the pto? ie, to get your tyre over a log or nose the car up a hill.or is it drive OR winch only?
Also,is the pto rpm determined by eng rpm or what gear your in?
If anyone can shoot some holes in my theory or help out with the questions that would be great.
cheers smitty
