nissin rb 30 oil problem

hey guys i got a nissin patrol with the rb 30 motor and my oil guage is saying no pressue then it will go up again and down is there any way i can tell if the pump is working or not some how.? and are the guages known to be faulty thanks daniel.

you need to fit a good mecanical test gauge.
you local mechanic should have one.


if it does turn out to have pump problem, try and trake down an RB25 oil pump to replace it with.

r the pumps hard to change and what sorta cost would i be looking at to get it changed do u know.?

GQ Patrol oil senders are notorious for failure and inacuracy, if the lifters aren't rattling you have some oil pressure. I agree get an acurate mechanical gauge to be sure. 99% of the time it's the sender that is stuffed.

yeh thanks no the lifters r not rattleing what happends is its sits bout half way then goes empty but then goes strait back to the half way mark so i was unsure but i thought better to be safe than sorry

Mine always reads zero after river crossing, it eventually died and the new nissan one does the same!, worry about something else ;)
