Apologies if this has been asked before, I've had a look and havent really found what I need. Ive got two quotes for extractors for the Roza - $350 fitted for Hurricanes and $465 fitted for the generic type of Genies (Wildcats?) which are apparently not mandrel-bent but 'I probably won't notice the difference' according to the dealer. Firstly, is the difference between mandrel-bent and other types significant? And secondly, is the extra $100 for the Genies worth it, or are the Hurricanes just as good (might spent it on a rampod instead ). Experiences from anyone with either of these fitted would be very much appreciated.

I have wildcats fitted to my Feroza and they cost me $215 unfitted IIRC. Took me about an hour to fit with simple hand tools. The hardest part was getting the Lambda sensor out of the stock manifold.
I would agree that you won't spot a difference between brands, but either way you'll notice a small bur pleasing power increase.
And as for the "rampod" just tip grit straight into the engine and ruin it quickly - If your actually going to drive off road a snorkel and better cleaner is required not some aftermarket junk.

I think the only mandrel bent ones are MRT's version? I had Hurricanes and they certainly weren't mandrel bent.
What's probably more important is the design of them- are they both Tri Y (4->2->1) or are they 4 into 1? The Hurricanes are 4->2->1 (or they used to be).
Search as there is a lot of info on here about the different brands and designs.

Hi guys, thought I posted a reply two days ago, but obviously not . Anyway thanks for the replies, good info, doesnt look like theres much difference between brands so I'll get whatever I can get cheapest.
Interested in what you had to say about the air filter... Im mainly doing the extractors for the fuel efficiency (mate fitted them at got just under 10% decrease in fuel usage, but he also upgraded to a 2" exhaust at the time). I would have thought that pulling that tangle of S bends out and putting a pod onto it would have improved both the performance and the economy, but apparently not.

The ibggest problem with the pod type filters is the amount of dust they let through. YES, you will get more power, but at the expense of engine longevity. If you don't believe me, then fit one and drive for a few months, then check the intake plumbing downstream of the filter. Scary how much dust they let through
