air shocks vs gas shocks, and what brands are suggested?

Post by crombiex »

Hey People... I am lifting my samurai with a 5in spoa, and have decided to ditch the cheap route and get some stuff that i really need to make this lift a proper one. I am looking for shocks now and i'd like to buy air shocks to fit my sammy, but i'm not really familiar with the different brands of shocks, and i would like some input on what air shocks would be suggested. Any suggestions on other shocks (not air) would be appreciated but i'm pretty sure air shocks is what i want so i can adjust them whenever i want:
So what i'm asking is, what brand shocks to get for a 5in liftedsammy? and
air vs gas (or other) - what is best?
I love Sarah :)

there are many brands of adjustable shocks that are not air shocks. eg ranchos have 9 stages and are gassed. also many shocks are speed sensitive, ie get stiffer at high speed, but go very soft when crawling, eg ARB's O.M.E. stick to well proven stuff sold in your area, christover
