Press Release**OZ Rock and WE ROCK combine for 2008 series**

Post by Strange Rover »

Pine Mountain, Qld, Australia - For Immediate Release

OZ Rock and WE ROCK executives are pleased to announce the realisation of a combined effort to present the premier rockcrawling series for the 2008 Rockcrawling season. Director of WE ROCK Australia Mr Sam Overton and OZ Rock CEO Mr Mark Cheeseman have, after many months of intense negotiations, been able to reach a mutual arrangement whereby the true fans of rock sports are the real winners.

The two separate entities have now combined to present a 3 round super series that is culminating in an Australian Rockcrawling Championship Final to be presented at the infamous rockcrawling Mecca at Walbundrie, NSW, Australia in late November.

Details and dates of all rounds to be announced soon.

I'm in, I'll worry about dates and conflicting events later (I'm hopefully that one of the weekends will be my sister in law's wedding and I'll have an excuse not to attend).

Yep - same place.

Should be really cool to go back again after a few years. I think with what sort of rigs are around now it will be incredible what we will be able to drive.

Thank You.

May I suggest in future stating whether the courses will be man made or natural. Only reason I suggest this is some people only have an interest in one type and might make more of an effort to get to a wozrock (??!?? :D) if they know what the courses are.

Probably sounds like a stupid idea but for me personally, I'd rather watch the natural stuff. If I don't know what the course will be, I won't bother at all. ;)

OK - I dont really have another date to work with so it looks like we will have to run this date but we wont try to push things with a man made event at Willowbank. Basically between Tough Tracks and the AFL grand Final we are probably best to do the man made thing next year. We will run a natural course somewhere at one of the 4wd parks

The site we have got at Willowbank is a perinant site and we will do a perminant sprayed concrete course along the same style as what we did with the rockhammar crew at the 2006 National 4wd Show in Brisbane. Next year will suit better anyway...more time for us to get our shiat together.

So all rounds this year will be on natural terrain and we will leave the portable stuff to the demonstrations...doing a demo this weekend at the Gold Coast Home Show & Outdoor Adventure Expo - http://australianevents.com.au/content/ ... ory/32/52/ and also the following weekend at Toowoomba at the 2008 Queensland Outdoor Adventure & Motoring Expo - http://australianevents.com.au/content/ ... ory/33/82/ We are just taking up a few of the smaller structures to the Goald Coast show this weekend and if all goes well we should be taking a container to the Toowoomba show.
