I have to ask why? Looked better with the camo all the way round. Was it cause of the dent?cookie monster wrote:We picked up these ali rear qtr panels from our mechanic(Grant @ cross country 4x4) for the bargain price of $50.
Sikaflex is the gear to use. We tried liquid nails first, but it didnt stick.

Originally we planned on using the chequer plate corners, so didnt worry about fixing the dent !
When it was painted the house was divided as to how they looked on the camo. Linda was dead against them, i thought they would look ok, but Hailey still wanted them on.
We thought that the other chequer plate work would match in with them.
In hindsight, we should have fixed the dent and then decided, but it was kind of too late once we'd painted it

First up... awesome job, a big armsup to the Cookie Monster Crew . Fantastic to see the girls giving it a go, congrats Hayley... a big step forward for the chickies
Quick question... I'm doing a drop-down table in the Jimny as well, where did you get those stretchy toggles from? Correct term for them?

DRS smells like a cat-food milkshake... and wet socks... and gorgonzola cheese... all whizzed up in a blender
We actually got them from a place that supplies PVC blinds, as mrw82 said, most accessory places will sell them.Squik wrote:First up... awesome job, a big armsup to the Cookie Monster Crew . Fantastic to see the girls giving it a go, congrats Hayley... a big step forward for the chickies

The pics show 2 straps on the table, but after driving the car, we've added a 3rd in the middle to stop it vibrating.
This week will see us taking the zook down to Hailey's school for marking and general viewing. I think there will be stronge interest in it
Ill post some pics of the final stages of the build and the school display later this week / next week.

they look funny because they are alloy.
Ok, getting to the end of the build now.
One thing I wanted to do for Hailey was to make a new badge for the front grill. The Suzuki badge was missing, so I thought id make up an aluminium badge, the same as the COOKI stickers.
Hailey had already taken the dimensions of the rear door sticker, so i fired the CAD package up and designed a badge in the same format/font as the original.
I used this file to get the stickers made and then gave a mate the file so he could cut the badge out on his CNC mill.
Starting to cut the word profile
Once de-burred, a couple of holes were drilled and tapped in the back and it was undercoated and painted black. I then removed the paint from the surface of the badge, polished it up and clear coated it.
Finished job
