how many guys run A\C on there patrols???. second air or A\C

Post by mikesmith »

hey guys

i am building a bit of a daily\ comp truck atm.

its a gq cut down, 350 chev and all the gear.

i have a mount bracket there for A\C or should i use it for a second air compressor???

i have one of hobzee's big compressors would that be enough running into say a 15ltr tank to re inflate the 36 or 37's in reasonable time? i dont want to sit there all day.

A lot of guys do this, especially if it's a dedicated comp truck. You could modify existing A/C compressor as your air compressor.

Since it doubles as a daily driver and you live in Melbourne, i'd suggest you'd regret not having Aircon on those 43degree summer days ;)

Another option is to make a bracket to mount a 2nd air compressor above your alternator. Instead of running 2 alternator belts you run one to alternator and another between alternator and 2nd air compressor. Fairly simple on carby and deisel 4.2's, more shit to move around on efi's.
