Steve, they are ok...the AVM hub is a lot weaker than std toyota thou, so get a 60 series or hilux (RFS) set of hubs, and if you can source a part time transfer and rear tailshaft, you dont need to spend the $500 on the part time kit...

Not sure exactly, but i think he said it was making bad noises when engaging 4wd, and made bad clunking noises when it disengaged.

It may have been something else in the case causing it, but he thought it was the part time kit.

you are only meant to engage 4wd when the hubs are locked in and rear tyres arent spinning at a different speed than the front tyres, otherwise you will hear very bad noises coming from the transfer case.

mine is fine like udm said the only clucks it makes is if the back wheels are spinning and ya hit the centre diff lock button it clunkes other then that there good try to get the genuine hubs tho i have broken 2 avm hubs lsd front diff on 35s and i was only ideling and it shattered in to about 20 pieces and fell off the hub. and mine being a 105 series cruiser they are a specialy made item arb dont stock them i had to go back to were i got the kit from and they replaced it straight away

A mate just bought one of these kits for his '96 GXL 80s. Anyone got the torque settings for all the transfer assembly bolts. Or is there a site with all the info?
cheers, sudso
