if the cam stops while the crank is turning, you're boned. if the engine still turns over you have probably broken the camshaft so the valves are all up out of the way.
take the rocker cover off and look for carnage - if none, turn the crank over to 90 degrees before TDC so all pistons are halfway down the bores. then turn the camshaft to the timing marks, then the pump, then bring the crank up to TDC and fit a new belt. turn it 720 crank degrees to make sure it all still turns. then key it, see if you're the luckiest man alive.

Free air locker to the first 20 callers!
They'll be there a line on the front of the cam pully and a small cut like a v in rocker cover at the top so when you looking at the face of the cam pully the line is in the same place as the v think thats how they are crank will be a line casted on the alloy housing and a V cut out or casted into the crank pully think thats how they'll be haven't done one in a while.
plenty of parts on the bench
thanks again,
yeah i just put the new bearing in and the belt back on and turned it by hand but its gets to a point then clunks and stops, i pulled the rocker cover off and the cam shaft is intact but one of the bearing races is broken, so i might just pull it to bits and check the valves etc/re time after i check every thing.
thanks for ya help guys
