If all goes well we will be starting the old girl on saturday.
It hasnt been run for probably 6-12 month's so I'm assuming the oil pump will need to be primed so I dont spin a bearing or worse.... I've had alot of conflicting advice one this, one place said I'll be fine, another said pull the pump and chock it full of vaseline, another said pull the dizzy and plugs and spin the motor pump up using the dizzy drive.
and a mate recomended just pulling the plugs and coil + and spinning the motor up with the starter....
Need idea's on who think's what is the best way to do this(or more conflicting advice. Dont want to be changing spun bearings as those who know how long this damn project has been going on has taken, phuck knows how long it'll take me to sort any drama's at this stage out.

p76 oil priming

The only way to prime the oil pump correctly is to remove the filter and unbolt the filter adator, pack as much vaseline in as you can and re assemble. Start the engine and it should prime in about 10-20 secs.

I just had mine off and primed it with vaseline.
If you haven't actually had the pump off then I am not sure it would need priming; I would expect the pump to still have oil pooled in it.
I think the pull-the-dizzy trick is a good idea to try and it can't hurt. ie pull the dizzy off, and use a screwdriver shaft (with the handle removed) in a battery drill to spin the oil pump. If you can get oil pressure at the oil pressure gauge doing this, then you don't need to prime. Just make sure you get the dizzy back on at the right tooth (don't ask me how I know this).

didnt get it started cause of a few bit's and piece's I didnt get done in time but one day in the next few nights she'll be drivable!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad the EFI is still going strong for ya, in hindsight I really should of kept it.
