Check the turbo waste gate actuator may be getting stuck and or the short rubber hose that actuates it (runs across the front of the intake side) may be split or damaged.

Can you hear the turbo trying to spool up ??

Check the elestrical fittings to your fuel pump, maybe it's not adding more fuel as it's suposed to.

How long since you have changed your fuel filter, maybe it's blocked up a bit from a dirty batch of fuel.

thats what i thought, but changed it on saturday and no better.i might drain my tank at the end of the week just to make sure theres no shit or water in it.otherwise it might have to make a trip to dieselcare and hope they can find the problem

factory turbo motor?

check hose from inlet manifold to boost sensor or boost comp. often you get splits in the inlet manifold ends of them and it leaks casueing problems.

also sometimes its a TPS fault.

well took it up to diesel care today and they put it on the dyno.said its only running at 75% power and the turbo boost is only 9 which should be up around 12 or more.they reckon the fuel pump might be on the way out and its not getting enough fuel although they werent definite.whats your thoughts

is it the electronic controlled fuel pump ? (sorry more used to surfs than hilux)

i would change TPS, fairly common for them to give eratic power type problems and a fairly generic part so replacements are easy to get.

block EGR (if it has it) and butterfly to eliminate emmision control side of things
also check things like water and air temp sensors

I had a surf that did the same thing once, the dash I had also had these too little led's. One red the other green and both of those were dark as well. It turned out to be a small rubber hose had split that went to a electronic sensor.

By pure fluke I found it straight away.

The Hilux turbo from 99-03 1kz-te were 8-9PSI.These where Japanese builds.

Hilux from 04 on fitted with the 1kz-te were 11-12 PSI.These were the first of the Thailand builds sent to Australia. They were also fitted with a larger radiator and different grille, lights.
