Hi guys and girls - just a quick note.

If anyone has any video footage (including incab footage) and would like it featured on the upcoming DVD, please send me a pm and we can organise it.

But please hurry as we can't use footage once we have started editing.

Anyone supplying footage we can use will also receive a free pre-release copy of the final DVD about a week before anyone else as a thank you.

Cheers, Evan.

Andrew_C wrote:I was a little disapointed, I have been a few times over the last 10 years and it was probably the worst I have seen.

The trucks and stages were good, waiting goes with the type of event due to failures, DNFs etc and that didn't worry me BUT.

This competition is a lawsuit waiting to happen and I would have thought from previous legal issues, it would have been better, not worse.

I can't understand why we couldn't park in the paddock like we have previously instead of 2km from the stages(it was probably due to morons getting stuck though) , the transport was a joke, a circuiting small bus instead of the landrovers would have been much better. We ended up walking both ways because there was no transport when we needed it.

There was not marked spectator areas or access to viewing areas so people were just walking up and down stages with race trucks flying past at less than a couple of metres distance when the people scattered off the track. Two years ago when I went, it was not perfect but better with viewing areas and marked safe access to them.

The people on the quad bikes were down right dangerous with no regard to pedestrians anywhere and it appeared you could just bring your own and hoon around on them.

If they want spectators at these events (do they? im not sure from yesterday) they need to cater much better for them. If I was a sponsor, I would have been very disapointed.

Before somebody says, If you don't like it, organise it yourself (common theme here) I will never be a competitior or involved in organising the event, Just like going to the world series cricket or the AFL football, I just pay my money and go to watch, and want to get value for this money, and come home safe. I only go to support mates competing.
Was the same last year stayed home and worked on my truck instead this year and after reading that glad I did now!

saturday has never really been a day for spectating !!
cause of the location of the tracks , its hard to allow for viewing !!
thats why sunday has always been promoted as the day to go !!!
& this year sunday was 200% up on last year !!
the 3 tracks were awsome !!
close to each other
& catering was good , you lined up for food , right next to a course , so you could watch while waiting for food !!

the kangaroo invasion was hilarious !!! :D

& saturday night :? :? should have gone to bed before 5am !!!!

The 4th Ateco I've been to and 1st time competing, sure is a tough event. Unfortunantly we didn't get to see much of the saturday stages because of car issues but we had a lot of fun on sunday which made up for it :D Auto over heating and not finding gears properly, motor running a bit rough, dodgy wiring for winch control switch (the cause for our ss7 DNF) and and an argument between a tree and the front left of the car all contributing to some saturday DNSs.

Big Thanks to Clive for having me in the navi seat again, Wazza, Belinda and the Flamin Fab crew for the fire, everyone involved with running the event, all the competitors for making Ateco the event that is it and of course the RaceGQ support crew for the great food and repairs the to the car and my fingers

Can't wait for next year!

Thanks to the organisers and competitors!!

Awesome Event!!!

Went on saturday and spectated most of the day!!

Loved the saturday format that let us explore and check out different courses and different sections of each course!! Did my excersise for this year walking around but was very happy to do it, well worth it for the viewing opertunities!!

It was great to be able to find your own speccy point in the scrub!!

Some really technical and smart driving by a lot of the competitiors, a lot more sensible drives and winching to conserve vehicles rather than crazy full throttle car destroying launches that you normally see. Great to watch even though not as spectacular!!

The winches are absolutely awesome of some of the trucks!!!

Top event....you sad sacks who think your better off at home are really missing out!!

Loved the RAV4...thats one angry looking Rav!!

Why does it take so long for the full results table to come out?
Its all calculated, just need to have someone from ccda put the scores up on there site.

Understand that Tom. But surely someone exists within the ccda that can type a list out with 30 odd names and numbers and put them up onto the web? Cant be that hard. Its a very important piece of information for the competitors and people followong the series.

I, for one, enjoyed the entire weekend heaps. All the people I spoke to
had said that it was excellent...........all the officials were very helpful with any info, that they
were aware of, to try to make the event run as smoothly as possible.
Spectators I spoke to said it was awsome

Thanks to Alison for a great weekend.
