1HZ Feul Economy
Just spent a dam long time reading the search threads I found.
80's, Hungy and 75/78/79's owners please post!
Can you post up your 1HZ figures!
Please include things that effect the figures!
Like
Is yours Turbo or not turbo??
Man or Auto??
What Revs @ 100k's? (Im thinking about 2200?)
Stock or 33's/35's?
When towing do you get much difference??
Does this sound right 700klms from the 90L tanks in a troopy with a DTS turbo??
Seems like most 1HZ are around 12-13/100klms.

Mine is NA 1HZ in a Troopy running 33s av over 90000km is 14.11l/100km
but this is including all 4wd trips to High Country, Walhalla,Toolangi, Tassie etc.
Best ever was 653.6km for 83.95l =12.84l/100km
Worst ever was 566.2km for 120.33l =21.25l/100km
Just put gas on it and did 618.8km for 69.47l of diesel + 25.50l gas.
Its overfuelled a bit at the moment so I have backed the injector pump off 1/16th of a turn so it's not blowing so much black crap.
If I put the 3/4 roofrack on it will cut 140km off the fuel range
2300rpm@100 kmh
Don't tow much but it knocks it about.

I have a 75 with 1HZ with DTS turbo running 10psi boost. Gives a constant 12.5 L/100km loaded or unloaded trip or not. Trip driving I cruise at around 100 to 110 has 2 inch lift. Economy would prob. be a tad better if you reduce speed to 80 to 90 with a lift kit.Remydog05 wrote:Thanks Crew
Anyone got one with a Turbo?? It should by theory get better L/klm??
Hope this helps
Mines a Turbo HZJ105 Auto

hope that helps barno

1996 HZJ75RP, DTS turbo with 3inch exhaust, rear locker, MTZs, 2inch shackles, 2 inch custom packs!
my 1991 80 series revs it's tits off. It was about 2700rpm at 110kph. so probably 2550-2600 at 100kph. with 33's it's a bit lower factoring in gearing. I do know that the speedo was accurate with 31's (according to gps)Remydog05 wrote:Thanks Crew
Seems the magic 12-13 per 100 is the go.
Any comments on RPM @ 100klms?
economy is about 13-14. seems to be shitter as off late. also my pump is leaking. thanks low-sulfur diesel
roof racks can make a significant difference, if they don't have a shield on the front of it to direct wind over it. Found this out on my 60 series. infact it made a whole gears difference on hills.
I've got a 1hz 80, running on 285/75's. With an empty roof rack sitting on 110 I can count on around 15l/100. Loose the roof rack and sit on 100 and I'll do around 12.6l/100. I have been averaging around 14.33L/100 for about the past year or so, but I've just had the injectors serviced so Im starting to see the fuel consumption get a bit closer to the stock sized tyre days again. Currently I reckon if I was running stock diameter rubber I reckon I could run easily 11.5L/100.
The highest fuel consumption I've had was 19.67L/100 and that was towing a car trailer (with about 1 tonne of furniture) and a fully loaded roof rack. Poor old girl was running flat to the boards all day in 4th

94' with DTS turbo intercooler, fuel compensator and running 16psi.
Front, side and rear steel bars, 33" tyres. rear draws full of crap and 40lts fresh water.
Towing a camper trailer and full length roof rack got 1900km's from 265lt
thats 7.17km per lt or 13.94lt/100. This is at 95 -100km/hr
Thats going the coast road, driving along stockton and going over the great didivding range a few times as well.
Driving into sth Brisbane from bayside in peak hour, no roof rack and get between 14 ad 14.5lt/100km. And I am guilty of using the right foot too much.
I also sit at about 2500-2600 at 100km/hr. The PO did run 35's and changed the diff ratios to suit so this is why my rev's are up slightly.
By GPS my speedo is spot on, so I know my figures are good, alot of people running smaller tyres think they are getting better figures but really arn't, same goes the other way for those running larger tyres.

Mine is a 1991 HZJ75. Totally stock with only 180,000 ks on the ODO. It gets about 12l / 100ks with a mixture of around town and freeway driving. Speedo is dead on by GPS. Diffs are 411s. Looking to put a turbo on to fill in the 2nd to 3rd gap.
Just as a side issue, I had a play around the forestry on Sunday and didn't feel the need for extra power. Driving around town is another story though. I haven't tried long distance soft sand yet.

92 80 series, 1hz with denco turbo, running 265/70/16, empty roof rack with spotties up top, steel bullbar, 2" lift.
I get around around 1000 - 1100km from the standard tanks. works out to be around 12l/100km I think.
But in saying that depends how I drive it, last month I was really giving it some on many occasions and only got 800km's..
