Rangie 3.5ltr V8 doesn't start, fuel and spark seems ok

Post by A.J. »

Hey guys!

I'm posting this up for a mate who has a problem with his Rangie.

It cranks over fine but doesn't start. Spark is there and fuel seems to be there too?!

The problem occoured after welding on the chassis.... the battery wasn't disconnected. Do you guys reckon the computer for the EFI could be fried?

Another thing is, there is fuel leaking from a injector that sits in the intake manifold (cold start??). Could that be a problem too?

I'm a diesel man so I'm not too sure what could be wrong.

Maybe there is somebody in the Sutherland area (Sydney) who has a 3.5 Rangie to try out their computer.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Ok guys, got it going today.

It was just "flooded" as it appears.

I took out all the spark plugs (filthy) and cleaned them plus cranked the engine over without the fuel pump running to dry it out.

Started straight away after that.

Cheers
