3 litre GU: boost and EGT probe install locations ???

Post by shatta »

I have just received my Autometer EGT and boost gauges today and just need to work out where to install the probes.

Can anyone detail where they tapped into, for the boost and also where the best location to tap the standard exhaust, for the EGT probe.

A local bloke will weld them for free, but has asked where the best locations are.

Pics would be very handy...

Vehicle: 2003, 3 litre GU.

Thanks in advance.

drill & tap a hole in the elbow going from the turbo to the intercooler for boost. weld a union to the dump pipe to fit the probe no more then 6 inches from the turbo

Fit the pyro slightly b4 the turbo, this gives a more reliable reading. Fitting the boost gauge b4 the i/c will give a higher boost reading than what the motor is actually getting 'cause you will get pressure drop across the i/c..
