Why do you need a bottle jack to reach the body? They are designed to be used under the diffs.

The jack I have...
at full extension needs another 250mm to touch the body let alone get it up another 50mm+ to fit the pucks.
hence why i want to know how much a Big Arse Jack will set me back and where to get them from...

Use the bottle jack on top of the tyres with a piece of wood on top to suit.

borrow a trolley jack, someone you know must have one, then put a block of timber between the jack and the sill and just jack up the body once your bolts are undone.
Even 2 or 3 short lengths of framing pine (4x2) nailed together is fine.

Or find something solid like a block of wood to sit the jack on, (Don't use a car battery)
Or do like i did, and jack up a second jack. Easy, just wind one jack all the way up, put one under it and jack away VIOLA.
(PS. I dont actually recommend that method)

Or the other way is to find a mate who is a mechanic and has a 2 poster hoist and swing his boss a carton or 2 and do it in half a day easy as...

I used a bottle jack to do my body lift, i just stacked the jack up with an old stump.
RT4wdc - HJ75 2' sus, 2' body lift, 35' cooper st's. chopped chassis & tray.

just lift each corner at a time, a mate and myself didn't use a jack at all.

But yeh i should be able to borrow a mates.
How much are the b a trolly jacks anyway?
Ps. cant use a hi lift for the tounges to small and I dont know how to use it...

I used a tiny trolley jack and a length of 4"x4" timber (old house stump i think). We also used a piece of 2"x4" pine after some idiot threw the 4x4 in the fire halfway through the job.
Remember - the body doesn't weigh that much if you do it corner by corner (unless your doing a 6" body lift of course
)

when i did a body lift on an MQ, we placed the jack ontop of the tires with a bit of wood ontop, and lifted inside the wheel arches, worked a treat on a shorty MQ
