how much boost on a 96 gq
hey guys, i know theres heaps of turbo threads on here, ive heard that later model 96 diesel motors dont take boost as well as earlyer ones, why is this and what sorta boost is still relatively ok i was thinking of running 10psi? cheers
thanks mate, i was sorta under the impression that they dont handle boost as well, i had a chat to him on patrol4x4. cheersdave_str wrote:Read up on OLDMAV's posts on Patrol4x4.com, 1993 - 1998 have weaker rods and pistons and wont take as much boost as the early TD42's.
If you are a member of Patrol4x4.com post up a question to OLDMAV or PM him.
Dave.
Amazes me what can be learnt here on this forum. I have (hopefully) one of the stronger TD42's, it's a '92 model, and have been searching and googling like crazy about aftermarket turbo info, with little to no oil consumtion, and a reasonably tick and rattle free motor, would 310k be ok to do a kit??
96 GQ LWB, Rd28T, nothing exciting, but CLEAAAAAN. 2" Kings flexy's, long shocks, custom dump, 3" zorst, fuel screw meddled with.
