Flares question

Post by Draven »

Hey All,

Been looking at Mavs / Patrols all week, and have found one that looks pretty clean etc etc.

The one thing its missing is the Plastic / Rubber GQ Flares over the wheel arches, I was just wondering if installing them was just a case of going down the wreckers and finding a pair to clip on ? Or is there more to it ?

Thanks all.

Sets at the wreckers will be rare, you might get lucky though. There are a lot of styles available aftermarket though, all brand new. Places like ARB, or TJM or similar 4wd accessory shop. Rubber, fibreglass, and urethane are what most of the aftermarket sets are made of.
Built, not bought.

I have used on a number of GQs and I have on my current Mav the ARB wire reinforced ones. Taken many, many a hit no damage. Polish to a gloss finish with liquid floor polish

Ive also broken, original ones, fibreglass ones and polyurethane ones.

If you wheel on overgrown tracks get the ARB ones...
