Hey everyone
im having trouble choosing some muddies!!
im looing for a tyre that is top stuff in the extreme mud and in most conditions. also needs to be able to do the daily driving and trips! any advice would be great :!:

JT's would suck arse as a daily drive tire, same with most of the extreme tires. claws, centipedes, swampers, boggers etc.

Stick with MTR/BFG Muddies if you want to drive to work/shops/etc...

other option is 2 sets of tires and rims.. easy to change in 20 mins..

If you find some magical tyres that meet all those criteria I want some.

Sorry, don't mean to sound rude, but "top stuff in extreme mud" and "good for daily driving" just ain't going to happen.

JT's will wear pretty quick. And be pretty noisy. And if they're anything like ET's, they will handle like a dog too.

BFG muds will prolly be a good compromise. But there's a dozen or so other tyres that will also fit that bill.

Buy a rattle gun and a cheap set of A/T's for DDing, and whatever gnarly mud tyre your heart desires for the weekends. My pick would be LTB's just cause their cheaper than simex's, look even more aggressive, and I haven't had them yet.

ah ok.
wasn't really sure how the more extreme muddies were on the road i've just got some cheap muddies but ripped open a sidewall. was looking at the mickey T's MTZ.....good comprimise???

MTZ's - Great On road and even better Off Road. Closest you will get to the best of both worlds.

Whats currently on the market I wouldn't look anywhere else.

I tried to run the JT2 as a DD. I'm pretty tolerent, but I only lasted about 6 months before I cracked it and bought some MTR roadies.

The big prob with the JT2 on the road, isn't so much the handling and the noise, its not as bad as what you may think. The flats spots everytime you go driving take a bit to warm up and come out. While there are flat spots the 4by bangs, clunks and vibrates about... its really quite annoying after a while.

If you really want a compromise, Id also check out the radial claw, but you really wont want a bias as a DD tyre.

claws are better onroad than ppl give them credit 3... i ran them as my only tire for months and loved em. would still have them as my only tire if the new bus didnt come with roadies on it :P

i'd vote for 2 sets.. (minus the rattle gun.. learnt the hardway with that too).

id run my JT's as DD's if I had the $$$ to splurge on another pair in 12months time..

they wear better as a 2nd set and you'll get better use out of them.. besides, you'll get picked on by the fuzz if you DD an agressive tyre.. and im talking from experience..

if you were to DD JT2's your driving style would need to change suitably as well.. you need to baby them in the wet and remember what your driving on if pushing hard around corners.. AT's are a bit more forgiving when your on road.. the noise is also something to get used to.. i find my normal stereo volume increases by about 7 whenever the JT2's are on.. whether im running hard or soft tops.

i never really had the flat spot issues with my JT2's.. i usually run them around 34psi on road .. and 16-20psi offroad.

JT'2s are a good extreme muddy but they are not really suited to daily driving if you can help it.
