Sure is a shame mate i was going to team up with Max in the jeep and do my first one but oooh well

Mal

Come to sunny Queensland and do the EFS Mini XI instead. :D :D :D

Yes it is a pity for the Teams that had been waiting and the spectators that had booked everything.

And I am quite sure that Paul is a bit disapointed as well having to call of the event.

Cheers

What's with the late call? They've had 10 months to get things sorted and i would have thought having somewhere to run the event would have been first on the list!
Not really trying to have a dig, just pissed off cause i've been looking forward to going again this year.

I'm fairly sure they lost access to the property they were going to use after they had all the stages planned out and most things finalised :bad-words:

I'd imagine it would be pretty hard to find another suitable property at such short notice and then attempt to work out stages which are probably covered with a metre of snow.

No doubt the organisers are fairly busy sorting out refunds with competitors and accomodation bookings and are not really concerned about jumping on here to explain the reasons for the cancellation to disgruntled spectators

The accomodation people (Dinner PLain Central Reservations) have been really good with refunds. They gave us the option to either transfer the accomodation until when the Alpine is on or refund the deposits minus 10% cancellation fee.

In their small writing in their terms it stated that we should of lost 50% of the deposit so they have been really good with that.
They said they had been talking with Paul direct and tried to help out everyone where they could.

So if people haven't spoken to their accomodation people then make sure you do it soon.

we are looking at running a small event on the same weekend that this would have been.

It is a big weekend for CCDA with marshall training at Bindaree. for those doing the marshall training there will be camping , fire & a spit roast saturday night.
Mike Smith is also going to be running a boot camp the same weekend at the same property. camping ect will be with the marshall training.

as there will be experienced competitors there helping with these 2 events and we have Bruce coming over from kiwi land we have decided to put a super special stage together.
The idea is to join about 10 of the ateco stages together and make it 1 big stage through the bush part of the property. The whole lot will be on tulip notes and cars will leave at 5 minute intervals. we would expect between 60 and 90 minutes in the car and about 10 winches!

We will camp on site and join in the partying with the other groups
We wont be able to cater for spectators but partners of competitiors are welcome. If you want to watch sign up for marshall traing and be a part of a great weekend.

If you want to be a part of the super stage contact myself or Wayne Smith with your intrest. As it will be invite only and limited in numbers.

we will need nominations ASAP. If you want to come down and join in speak up now!
