NARVA ULTIMA 225 OR IPF 900XS

Post by adriand82 »

Hi, am buying a set of lights soon, and am comparing these two sets. Does anyone use the new Narva's? I really like the IPF 900xs, but have not heard a lot about the Narva Ultima 225's yet. LightForce are not an option as they are too big and overpriced. All help appreciated.

4x4 Australia magazine have run test of both the IPF & the Narva in Sept 2008 issue. Looks like the IPF give you a little wider spread whilst Narva has stronger central light. Narva has a synthetic body material whilst IPF is steel.

I have the IPFs and have had no problems. Mounting excellent and haven't moved after the hammering they took on Cordillo Downs Road.

I like the Narva 225's. The have a good mounting system. They don't rust or rattle apart like steel cases do and they have multi parabola reflectors to aim the light instead of 'bending' it through glass.

Lightforce are releasing there new 200 series lights very soon. They are of a totally different construction to the current lights they have. They have finnally stepped into this century. Retail will be around $260 per light. Keep an eye out for them.

So would the Narva Ultima 225 be the closest size and performance wise to the LightForce Blitz?

Also, are the Nite Stalker Roo Lites 220XP's any good either??? They seem very cheap for a large lamp...

I can't tell you anything about the Roolite as i've never had any experience with them.
The Narva 225 in my opinion has a nicer beam than a blitz or XGT. And you can fit the 55w blue globes to the narva's which gives you an ever nicer light again.

I bit the bullet and got a set of LightForce Blitz 240's for $355. All mounted, keen to align them tonight.

why do you want the XS? They take the much rarer 65watt bulb which is "supposed" to produce the same light as a 130watt halogen, as used in the normal ipf900.

130watt halogens can be found everywhere, Try and find a replacement bulb for the ipf900xs... Much much harder.

from when i was doing research, the XS models are wank factor.

Hey Buddy
No way are Lightforce overpriced!
Like my Dad always said - buy once and buy right!
Without going to HID Lightforce are the best light on the market by far..

*Aluminised polycarbonate reflector with the best reflector surface of any light out there rather than chromed steel.
*All parts of the light available to buy indvidually
*Lightest
*Strongest
*Focusable
*Interchangeable Filters
*3 Year Warranty
*Australian Made

Wait a couple of weeks and buy the new LF200 if size is a concern.

What more do you want ????
gute Reise!
