Post by Dean85 »

Hey guys, considering putting my disco up for sale as i simply cant afford the cost of maintaining it at the moment so probably going for something a bit cheaper to maintain, i wasnt really sure what i should ask for it so i thought id get some advice on here, details as follows:

1991 Landrover Discovery 4 door
3.5L V8, 5 Speed manual.
230,000km's
Dual Fuel, gas fitted in 2006 has scuba style tanks in back with carpeted cover over the top.
Towbar
Tinted windows
2.5" Exhaust
3" Suspension lift
Custom rock sliders
33" goodyear wrangler mt/r tyres on 16" Standard disco rims (80% tread +)
ARB Low mount Winch Bar (No winch)
Roof rack with 2 square spotlights (not connected)
Narva Spotlights (purchased and fitted a couple of weeks ago)
Airflow Snorkel (purchased and fitted a couple of weeks ago)
GME 40ch UHF (also purchased and fitted at the same time)
Twin thermo fans
Serviced 2500km's ago including plugs, leads, oil/air/fuel filters, rotor button, distributor cap, oil etc, Water pump replaced last week (brand new) also had new brakes front/rear a few months ago.
Has a Clarion MP3 player and pioneer 6" Speakers front/rear
Overall car is in not to bad condition, has a few minor dents/scratches from the bush but hasnt really done any serious 4x4 work. mechanically good.

couple of photos of the car before snorkel etc were fitted a couple of weeks ago.

Likely be lucky to see $4500 - 5000 given the prices of what's out there.

Now now .. he's only having a joke with you ... don't bite and let him stir you up. Just laugh along.

But on the serious side, these can be had very cheaply at times. Mate of mine is a dealer and he just purchased a very nice 98 Disco Turbo Diesel for $3400 and a mint 95 Range Rover HSE for $5300 with over $30K of receipts in the glovebox

Yes I know his prices are cheap because he purchases these cars from wholesalers but someone traded these cars in somewhere and the wholesaler has got them from that car yard and sold them to my mate and made money on them so how much were they traded for ?

Anyway, your car is worth whatever someone is willing to pay you for it. Simple free market concept.
