Tyre Size Legallity Question???

Post by rpm »

Hey Guys...

I'm in the process of buying a new sierra, one that has been professionally built and has had all the hard work done already.

It has a SPOA conversion, engineered for 31 inch tyres. It currently has 33 inch tyres on the truck at the moment. My question is, will it pass a Vic roadworthy inspection with the 33 inch tyres, even though it has an engineers certificate allowing 31 inch tyres?

These are my thoughts... If a car comes out with say 31 inch tyres and you put 33 inch tyres on it, then it is still roadworthy in Vic because you are allowed to go 2 inches bigger than the standard tyre size.

Please correct me if i'm wrong... I just don't want to waste my time having to change wheels and tyres over...

Thanks,

RPM

I highly doubt it would pass with 33's mate. You may be able to get your own engineers report for the 33's though. One question though is the engineers report it has for victoria? Cause if it's for NSW then it's useless.

thanks for your responses guys...

Hey Joe, i Believe it's one of your babies... I'll post some pics and info when i pick the truck up 2moz... I'll have to give u a call sometime to have a chat about the truck and future mods...

Too easy, i'll swap the 30's off my current zook, or bolt on the stock road tyres i've got in the garage...
