i thought of this while i was at work - noticed that this mitsu 380 had a digital fuel reader in the dash.....got me thinking what if i could have one in my sierra??? my sierra came with a longrange tank not sure how big but its definitly longrange - tiz huge!!!
so i was wondering if it would be possible to fit a digital fuel reader somewhere on the dash so that i could have a fairly accurate reading of how many litres or how many k's till its empty.
i think its a cool idea if anyone else hasnt done it?? if ya have then thats even better!!!!
So im a noob when it comes to zooks, but, going of my sierra its the sender that is currently the bottle neck. So would say chances are that would be where the business is at. Dunno, but jaycar might sell a digital fuel sender kit? If I wasnt in the middle of exams at the moment i would fab you a LCD readout that would interpret what ever senders dish out, votlages, pvm's etc...
Telling you how many km's you have left in your take would probably have to be given as a nice rough guess on your average fuel econ, 10l/100 or whatever... Modern cars do some funky calculations on what the car is doing at the time, how hard your driving etc... wouldnt be able todo that i dont think...

hahahaah nah just something that reads how many litres in the tank - would be nifty on keepin check of fuel levels i guess

Yup, but my point being that you'll only need to run out of fuel once to know what your corrected or uncorrected (it matters not) odo reading is at empty
Mine is extremely consistent - it gets around 12L/100km no matter what I'm doing with it, country or city. Would allow a bit of leeway if I was wheeling for more than a coupla hours though.
