60 Series Ute Conversion

Post by Wozza244 »

Hey names wozza, i own a 60 ute has 3''body lift, 2" spring lift, custom steel tray is on the way by end of month, 35" Baja Claws for everyday use, 37" Swamper TSL Boggers for playing offroad.

And no the 37s did not fit well with the body and spring lift alone, they rubbed the inside of rear guards at 80% flex and rubbed on the front leaf springs close to full lock, they cleared the front guards (only just)
This is why i got 3" wheel spacers, ext. shackles and new springs, but with the 35s and all the old gear they cleared just fine..

The 2F motor turns the big tyres easy, its actually quite good i might stick with it for a while yet..

Id like to change the body (due to alot of rust) to a 61 or 62 series cab, with the twin headlight front, converted to ute again of course, was wondering if the body mounts are all the same..

And also would love to see some pics of other 60 ute conversions if anyone has one or knows of one, i have some pics of mine on here i will try and link it but you might just have to search for it in the memberlist, here http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v70/m ... C00111.jpg

The pics posted were as i bought it with the exception of the swampers i put on it, its undergone a bit of work since.... 2" extended shackles, 3" spacers for the 37s, and brand new 2" OME Leaf Springs, which are great quality and highly recommended
Cheers
Wozza

This is a nice HJ61 Safari with very cool timber look interior that I came across in Marble Bar of all places. Looked like a locals car.
