just thinking about my next set of tyres to replace the 31 AT's ive got now.. I was thinking I could go for something thats more offroad friendly to save having to change tyres all the time (yes im lazy)..
has anyone run 33x10.5 or 34x10.5' Swamper SS LTB's on a daily driver before and if so what did you think of them??
are the LTB's a bias ply, load and speed rated? (to be honest i haven't looked up the tyre specs yet.. will do now tho).. I need to check if they come in a R16.

Swampers aren't all that bad on the road at all, an can be quite quiet and round.
However, no Swamper is speed rated under the ADR system, so they're not legal for road use on a dar that's newer than 1973.

Yes, but if you're unlucky it will be a red canary offence - i.e park the car and walk.
Also, insurance (both yours and registration authority- TAC in Vic) is void if they pick it up.
Personally, I wouldn't DD on swampers for that reason, although I love them and it's all I'd ever use offroad.
It's actually one of my pet hates- swampers are DOT E4 speed rated and load rated in the US which is acceptable in every country in the world except here.

Yep, the 34" trxus's would be a good! Wouldn't work on your skinny rims but I dont think. I loved mine, but have sold them now for something more agressive (couldn't see the point of having radial 33s for around town, and radial 35's for offroad). Not sure what I'm getting yet, I keep changing my mind between 36x12.5 TSLS and 36x13.5 Iroks (or possibly Boofs Krawlers if he'll sell them)

Well i know that mine are pigs on the road they are 37" Boggers, but at end of day why would you want to run them on the road they will wear out quick and they are not cheap
I have 35.9 X 13.5 inch SS TSL's on my HZJ79, they are on 6 inch rims because I can't find wider rims here:)
Do not use these tires as daily drivers in my opinion. It has taken just about 1 pound of weights to balance these tires and they are still wobbly and unbalanced which is very hard on steering components and the whole truck. I have also heard of the sidewalls delaminating on these tires at highway speeds.
They are an offroad tire - not for DD in my opinion. I won't buy another set of these tires just for the balancing issues, but offroad they are very good. Here they are in some mud:
also, here's a guess after many years of swamper ownership - take the weights off. All of them. After a few tries over 15 years ago, I've never had a wheel weight on a swamper. It's a waste of time.

I am using beads now - they are making a difference but I still need about another 4 ounces in each tire. I cannot drive these without weight - the truck shakes like a bastard.
I'm working on th erims issue, I just bought a set of 100 series alloys - 8 inches wide, will try and mount those up.
To cut and weld the rims here will cost me about 200 each - so working on other solutions.
get some rims widened! you would get so much more out of them tires on 10's.
