Where to get 44mm (1 3/4") Tube

Post by bru21 »

As above.

I am looking for regular steel tube with the above OD to build my buggy with.

so far my options are 4130 @

1.5"

PS3821 @ A$20.30/m

PS3824 @ A$19.58/m

PS3828 @ A$25.57/m

PS3830 @ A$27.49/m

1.75"

Ps4414 @ A$24.08/m

PS4416 @ A$23.34/m

PS4421 @ A$20.37/m

PS4424 @ A$28.46/m

PS4430 @ A$31.66/m

I don't mind paying for the steel but I will need larger radius dies to bend the thin stuff to justify its use so it will end up adding a grand or two to the project.

OPW sell 650mpa steel which sounds good and is my preferred option if i cannot get steel in QLD.

So what is everyone using? Might send the 44mm die back and get a 48mm.

cheers bru

Thanks fellas,

The prices above are from performance metals. I will get their DOM price and see how it compares. I was hoping for a local supplier.

I looked up Atlas, metalcorp, smorgon / one steel etc

Might have to just bite the bullet.

I need to do a cage for my brother and the buggy so about 60m to start off. Need to take out a second morgage
