only real damage i can see from hitting a rabbit, is maybe getting a bone thru your tyre, a little panel damage if u hit him with ur bumper, and then just blood and guts up under ur car

nothing too bad, not like hitting a roo

I hit a rabit in a camry once with the passenger side front tyre, heard a thud then silence for about 10 seconds then a quick repetative thump thump thump thump for about another ten seconds and then nothing. When I got home there was blood all under the car and a little fur, was not pretty.

my zuk has hit all sorts of small animals and no damage.. even a bird right into the left indicator - and no damage - it was a magpie too..

Wouldnt fancy a zuk's chances against a roo though!

I wouldn't even bother slowing down for a rabbit. I hit one doing about 120kph in a barina and all i had to do was peel it off the front grill, didnt even leave a scratch  roos are a different story though

I witnessed a guy in a Samurai in the US have a collision with a cow. The Zuk was doing about 60mph, it was pitch black at night, the cow was doing about 2km/h it also was pitch black and it wandered out into the road right in front of the zuk.

End result: 1 dead cow, 1 dead Zuk, 2 very lucky occupants with minimal injuries. The Zuk hit so hard he concertinaed the bonnet back into the windscreen, broke the weber carby clean off the engine block leaving an imprint in the cow, pushed the engine back a couple of inches, shortnede the door openings by about an inch, bent the chassis rails.

After 3 days of wor in the campground and a quick run from Moab down into Colorado for a new front clip he finished the week off at the Jeep Safari with us.

Worse thhing was he got hit with a $2000 fine for hitting the cow as they are allowed to roam free range and it is up to drivers to look out for them. But we did get a huge piece of cow for a bbq from the owner

Same thing applies here.

Probably one of the most dangerous roadkill issues in Vic are flocks of galahs on the side of the road. Had a brown stain moment once when we hit a flock at about 130km/h. Couldn't see a farkin' thing through the windscreen.

was following my brother in his Zuk which had a roof rack on. He hit a Galah whilst doing a 100. The Galah went between the roof and the roof rack, bounced down the length of the roof and exploded out the end in a puff of grey and pink feathers.

I have also hit a fox which resulted in an explosion of red and white fur all over the front of my Zuk. Not pretty and not much fun to clean up.

Many many years ago my Dad was driving along Nepean Highway crossing the paterson River bridge and ran into a flock of sheep with his Falcon XY GT. Now that was a mess

back in 2000 i was crossing from qld to nt with my grandparents in there 100series when we hit a swarm of bugs and birds. by the time we pulled up in alice springs the car was plastered with dead bugs and there were little birds jammed in all sorts of places

Hit a pregnant racehorse at 100kph near Stawell on our way from Adelaide to Melbourne years back. It was a black horse and was running down the middle of our lane towards us ... because of glare from oncoming cars, we never saw it till we hit.

Some idiot had opened the gate and let it out. $30k damage to Dad's VQ Caprice and almost took us both out. The A pillars were crushed down to steering wheel / dash level, the B pillar on the drivers side to head restraint level, and we were all crouched up underneath. A highway cop pulled up only seconds after the accident (before we'd gotten out of the car) and wouldn't let bystanders assist because he expected at least the driver to be dead. Neither of us actually was injured beyond whiplash and glass cuts but Dad was pretty cut up and won't drive distances at night any more.

I just won't drive in the country at night without a few Lightforce spotties to clear the way :)

all i had was a cracked park light, 3mm C section steel as a bumper will do that.

The original question was fair enough but now I think we're just comparing pencils.

Haha

Well… A while ago I was driving an ex girlfriend and her mates to their netball game.
Had the top off (the zook, not the girlfriend), hit a pigeon top lefthand side off windscreen, bounced off the GF's head, went under the targa bar and hit her friend smack in the face.

No damage to the zook, I just got a slap for laughing too much!
