Newbie questions about mongrel tyres on hilux

Post by DAZZA-LUX »

I drive a "96" styleside dual cab hilux 2.8D with 31 muddies & 2 1/2" tough dog lift. I am wanting to put 32x10.5x15 or 33x12.5x15 mongrels but under full articulation with the 31's, the front tyres come very close to the mud flap area of the guard..........I would prefer the 33" for diff clearence but at this stage without body lift (if poss) to keep centre of gravity down as low as possible. Also would the 12.5" width of the 33" cause other problems?........ I will also need sunny wheels with the correct track for these tyres. .....I know the obvious answer is body lift but want to try without...............................
Any response to my questions would be appreciated.
