Sam, I wouldn't worry to much about the horsies breaking stuff, you will find that with the auto and the drop in torque you will be less likely to break stuff.
But then again, I have always had an auto and always had the v8s and always break stuff :oops:

I thought that 4.11's were weaker than 3.54 CWP? A friend of mine that does some of the winch comps has recently gone backup to 3.54 from 4.11 because he was sick of breaking them.

i would of thought that ashcroft's and the like would've been miles stronger then stock 3.54's :?

looks a bit empty in there at the moment, but after the injection and everything is bolted up, hopefully i'll still get some space back in there. was a fair bit tighter with the isuzu.

so thats a 4.6 crank in a 3.9 block with reduced mains? just the block is not cross bolted so its an earlier block?

What other things do you have to change?

I am looking at some way to give my 3.9 a bit more stick, but haven't heard about using a 4.6 crank, what capacity does that give you?

its a 4.4 stroker kit, but using a ground 4.6 crank, instead of 4.4 - because i wanted a serp belt, gives me abit over 4.3L


ok so question, the temp fuel system we put on was a 2 barrel holley projection system - originally off a 4.4, that turns out can't deliver enough fuel.

we're just about to start pricing other options now, my mechanics looking at a 4 barrel holley system from the states, or a multipoint system.

who's got any suggestions? exp?

Yeh I agree with HI JACK straight LPG. But the 4.6 I put in
my 130 just use's the stock 3.9 injection & goes pritty well.
We are looking at an computor upgrade from JD as well for
a little extra :armsup:

No have'nt dynoed it yet, the nearest 4w dyno is 3hr's away.
Its only a work ute so its ok at this stage. But we always like
a bit more. But lpg will probobly be next.

Not talking about getting "a bit more" out of it, I'm talking about your engine living a long healthy life, not run lean for many km's :cry:

You don;t need a 4w dyno, just drop the front shaft and engage the CDL

Steer clear of the holley projection carbs sam as you will have the same problem as running well a holley carb :?

Im with harley mate. Go a Gas research carb.
If not try the 3.9 manifold with maybe aftermarket computer (im shore grimace had 1 around somewhere) with some bigger injectors.
But really you should have just stuck a damn Chev in it :lol:
Gas will come in a bit over what the projection carb an computer will come in at. The projection is pretty much a carb with 4 injectors shoved in the guts of it.

The standerd 3.9 computer and manifold set up will do fine though until you sort a gas kit out. ;)

i'm in discusions with my mechanic a the moment to run probably the 3.9 manifold with a haltech computer, get rid of the AFM.

only problem is that he wants it for another month to do the work, as he only does it on the side, not as a dedicated job, to try and save me a little coin.

lucky he needs more landscaping done at his house :armsup:

Unless you like piss fart arsing around with after market computers I would suggest keeping the standard 14CUX. It will be far less hassle and much cheaper.
